Raindrops on Roses…

I need a theme to keep me blogging, so I’m going with “A Few of My Favorite Things.”

And, no, I’m not talking cheesetastic stuff like raindrops on anything.

Rather, I’m talking about practical, everyday things.

Like this, my first choice, Basis. It’s my favorite face wash. My dermatologist actually recommended this to me way back in 1999 (about the same time I ended up going on Accutane). And over the years, I’ve tried many different types of face wash, expensive, inexpensive, organic, chemucal-filled whatever. And I tell you, I always come back to Basis. And at around $4/bottle, it’s not only great for my skin, but also easy on my wallet!

Have you ever tried it? What’s your go-to face wash?

  1. I recently had a friend recommend this: http://www.marykay.com/skincare/cleansers/cleansers/10026940/default.aspx

    So far I’m in love.

  2. I use whatever I have a coupon for. I’m rather lucky with my skin. Where can your purchase Basis at? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before. For only $4 / bottle, that might be my next try!

    • I get it at Publix. But they usually have it at places like CVS.

  3. From one accutane veteran to another I might have to try it out. The regular Clinique 3-step has been my best bet most often but right now I’m having a skin crisis! I’m looking about 15 (and PRE-accutane) right about now. Thanks for the tip!

    • I also still use only step 3 of the proactiv stuff, the repairing lotion. I use it every night–not just for outbreaks. That seems to help with the whole, I look like a 15 year old riddled by acne thing.

      • I’m bitter towards proactive….it makes me angry because it’s so promising! And then after a couple months or so….nothin’. For me it starts not working around the time they automatically send out the next batch (which also annoys me). Plus, Not-so-jazzed about my bleached pillow cases.

I just got some acne foundation from Clinique two days ago…so far I’m loving it. I’ll keep you posted. :)
